The devil went down to the jordan
he was lookinand' for a show to steal
he was in a bind and'cause jesus came to find
the people willing to make it real
And he came upon the son of man
saw him in the desert and prayinand' to god
then the devil jumped upon the chance to tempt him
said, andquot;boy, let me tell ya, itand's hot!andquot;
andquot;i guess you wouldnand't show it, but i can tell youand're cravinand' food
andquot;and kid iand'm scared this desert air might get the best of you
andquot;now you ainand't been eatinand' your vittles boy
andquot;but now, your dinner is due
andquot;so if youand're really godand's son, then turn these stones
to bread and iand'll butter it for you.andquot;
The lord said, andquot;i am hungry, but that would be a sin
andquot;cause it ainand't by bread manand's gonna be fed
andquot;but by the word godand's given him.andquot;
John the baptist washed the lord and thereand's where it all starts
cause jesus left the jordan and the devil hit him hard
and if he wins we get to walk on heavenand's streets of gold
but if he sins the devil gets your soul
The devil took him up in space and said, andquot;why donand't you throw
andquot;yourself off of this temple top as i watch you from below
andquot;cause iand'm sure you know that god will send
andquot;all his angels to assist
andquot;and man would believe that you are him
andquot;if the saw you did somethinand' like thisandquot;
When the devil finished, jesus said
andquot;well, youand're temptinand' god, old son
andquot;and itand's written down in that book right there
andquot;that thing should never be doneandquot;

you can never tempt god, did you not know
man, he doesnand't live by bread alone
The devil finallly said, andquot;jesus, if youand'll just worship me
andquot;then iand'll give you gold that glitters
andquot;every crown, and all you seeandquot;
Jesus said, andquot;devil, just turn on back
andquot;cause iand'm never gonna buy your scam
andquot;i love god too much, iand'm gonna resist
andquot;i suggest youand'd better scram!andquot;
and we say
